The gardens are extensive and private . They are treed, full of bird-life surrounded by hedges and fences and are very safe for children. The adjoining woods are wondrous places for walks and bicycle trips. At the end of the laneway to La Trepinie there is a stream which is a tributary to the Dronne (the main river in the area) which is full of trout.
